How to Take Fractal Care & Responsibility
We are all interconnected... but our modern capitalist lifestyles can make this hard to perceive and act upon. In this talk, I unpack a framework for consciously envisioning these interconnections, and formulating an original way for "attending to" the thriving of all the different layers—from internal to planetary—that actually constitute us... and optimizing for the most efficiently, generally GOOD ways to be.
This week's talk is a bit of a follow-up to last week's talk. Some of you reached out expressing that you loved the Wholemaking talk but wanted to hear more tangible ways that people can engage in "whole-making."
This talk unpacks one method that I use for extending my attention (which is, truly, concentrated love/life-energy) to all the different levels of connection that actually make up my existence. This approach is influenced and derived in part from tools developed by my colleagues at Regenerate Change and covered in the Regenerative Changemakers Manual and to a lesser degree, Change Here Now.
The talk asks, "How are we attending to all of our responsibilities and relations—as an entangled, interbeing Being?" This question is not impossible to answer, but it requires us to do the diligence of making meaning from our lives.
Most of us are intrinsically motivated to "do good" in the world. But when was the last time you asked yourself whether your "good-doing" was having the impacts you hoped it would have? When have you last updated your operating paradigm through which you enact goodness—and heal yourself?
This week's talk is an invitation to think more systematically about such things.
I hope you like it! Next week I am gearing up to begin teasing some a big fat juicy outline of Fractal Praxis' first course for fractal practitioners. If you like this week's content, you will definitely want to tune in next week!
Much more to come.
Yours truly—
C.
